Hugo McCloud: Pitcher
For World Water Day 2022, Amref Health Africa is raising awareness and funds for their water and sanitation programs. Amref has partnered with four contemporary Black artists - Hugo McCloud, Shantell Martin, Patrick Martinez and Amy Amalia - to create limited edition water pitchers to raise money in support of Amref's critical programming. Lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation is one of the most common public health challenges in many communities across Africa. This has become especially more prevalent in the wake of climate change, which is disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable. Currently, the horn of Africa is experiencing the worst drought in over four decades, threatening the lives of millions. The sale of all 600 pitchers from this project can help Amref provide over 220,000 gallons of clean water to remote communities along migration routes.
